In the refugee-hosting communities of West Nile, where many women and girls continue to face the emotional scars of conflict, displacement, and gender-based violence, the Path to Peace Project is restoring hope through community-driven mental health and psychosocial support.
Supported by the Euphrates Institute, the initiative is implemented by Peace for Women–West Nile (PfW-WN) to strengthen community-based mental health systems that serve both refugee and host communities. The project recognizes that healing goes beyond physical safety—it requires emotional wellbeing, trauma recovery, and supportive environments where women and girls can rebuild their confidence and resilience.
By working closely with local leaders, community volunteers, and women's groups, the project promotes accessible psychosocial support, encourages open dialogue on mental health, and helps communities better respond to trauma and emotional distress.

These efforts contribute to stronger social cohesion and peaceful coexistence between refugee and host populations. The Path to Peace Project reflects Peace for Women–West Nile's broader mission of empowering women, girls, and youth through psychosocial support, peacebuilding, and community engagement.
As the organization continues expanding its impact across West Nile, the initiative stands as a testament to the belief that investing in mental wellbeing is essential for building resilient, peaceful, and inclusive communities.
