Peace for Women – West Nile was founded in 2022 by a group of passionate women leaders who recognized the increasing challenges affecting women, girls, youth, refugees, and vulnerable populations in Uganda's West Nile region.The founders envisioned an organization that would provide a safe platform where women could raise their voices, influence decisions, develop leadership skills, and work collectively to address the root causes of poverty, gender inequality, gender-based violence, social exclusion, conflict, and displacement.Since then, the organization has grown into a trusted community partner, working closely with local leaders, development partners, government institutions, civil society organizations, and community members to create meaningful and lasting change.Peace for Women – West Nile (PFW-WN) is a women-led, community-based organization dedicated to empowering women, girls, and young people to become agents of positive change. Since our establishment in 2022, we have worked alongside communities across West Nile to promote gender equality, social justice, peacebuilding, and sustainable development.We believe that when women and girls are empowered, entire communities thrive. Through grassroots initiatives, advocacy, leadership development, and community engagement, we create opportunities that enable individuals to live with dignity, resilience, and hope.
